Settings for officer clock-ins

Settings for officer clock-ins

Before having officer clock-in and clock-out via the Belfry mobile app, we have a few different settings you'll want to configure:
site geofences (location)
clock-in window (time)

Site geo-fence

Configuring a geo-fence can ensure that the officer is at the customer site when they clock-in for their shift. Later, Belfry will also use this geo-fence and the officer's mobile app location to determine if they have "abandoned their post" (i.e., left the site location) and send admins a notification.

To set the geo-fence, visit the Customer page > Bell Tower tab > Configuration sub-tab.

Then click "Add a Site" under Site Geofence. You can move the pin as well as change the radius in the slider to modify the geofence. Lastly, you can toggle the option to "Enable geofence for clock-in." After hitting Save, this will require officers to be within this region to clock-in for a shift.

Clock-in window

This is a global setting that will restrict officers from clocking in more than a certain amount of time before their scheduled shift. If can be found in the Settings module under Scheduling settings.

Setting the number of minutes to 0 means that the officers will only be able to clock-in at the exact time or after the scheduled start time for their shift. If this is set to 15, officers will be able to clock in no more than 15 minutes early for their scheduled shift. (e.g., for a shift starting at 8:00am, they can clock-in beginning at 7:45am).

Settings > Scheduling settings tab

Officers will see the following message if this setting is configured and they try to clock-in early:
